"Poetry is the clear expression of mixed feelings." - W. H. Auden
"Breathe in experience, breathe out poetry." - Muriel Rukeyser
Hi folks,
I recently posted a blank verse poem here. Several readers appear to have enjoyed Soundings and have asked if I write many non-rhyming poems. Well, I don't often depart from my passion for external and internal rhyme, but a poetry magazine in the USA, CC&D (Scars Publications) prefers non-rhyming poems, so yours truly has tried to rise to the challenge from time to time.
Anyone interested can now see all the non-rhyming poems of mine that CC&D have published:
http://scars.tv/cgi-bin/framesmain.pl?writers - just scroll down to R. N. Taber in the left hand column; enjoy the works of other CC&D poets as well.
Meanwhile…
I am struggling a bit with a new poem that I hope to post here tomorrow, despite hormone therapy continuing to mess with (already messed-up) thought processes and memory. I am still reeling from Microsoft locking me out of my pc recently as well. (I prefer to use Google.) A local repair shop has managed to unlock it and restore the data, but I was unable to go online for a week. I hadn't got around to setting up my new laptop, either, but that's now sorted, thanks to more than a little help from close friends. (I used to be fairly on the ball with IT, but am next to hopeless these days!) Getting old, I guess... wry bardic grin
Both prostate and mobility problems seem to have minds of their own as to whether they will co-operate with mind-body-spirit or not, but we poets are tougher than we look, so yours truly continues to keep looking on the bright(er) side of life. I do hope most, if not all of you, are able to do the same, especially as the media rarely puts a smile on our faces these days, unless it is to ponder assorted goings-on in Parliament... wry bardic chuckle
Take care, stay safe and keep well,
Hugs,
